BERGDORF GOODMAN HOLIDAY WINDOWS 2013: HOLIDAYS ON ICE

Valentine's Day
April Fool's Day
Halloween
Fourth of July
Arbor Day

Every holiday season, David Hoey and his team put on the most spectacular show in windows in New York City.  For every passerby on Fifth Avenue, it is a feast for the eyes and the experience of theater behind the glass.  While the windows display immense beauty and extravagance beyond your wildest imagination, it's greatest gift is that of a conjuring of childlike wonder within all of us.  This year's windows continue these traditions with "Holidays on Ice", featuring various holidays cast in a frozen landscape.  While it has been five years since I worked on the windows team at Bergdorf Goodman, I continue to apply the wealth of knowledge David and his team bestowed upon me in my current creative endeavors.

Behind the magic of a great window team there must be a photographer who captures the vision and gives it to all.  And that person is the talented Ricky Zehavi who has the succinct ability of revealing the artistry and detail of each installation.  Working as a photographer in New York City for 25 years, Ricky has accrued an impressive client list and her work for Bergdorf Goodman is featured in "Windows at Bergdorf Goodman".  You may view more of her work at www.rickyzehavi.com and more about the photographer here.

GIRLS BEHIND WINDOWS

I am so excited to finally share with you the mini-documentary on myself and Rachel Everett that came out last week from OkieMama Magazine.  Several months ago, we were documented during a window installation at Miss Jackson's and interviewed on our craft.  I am so honored to be recognized for our work by this lovely magazine! Be sure to read the editorial piece on Miss Jackson's here and the magazine in its entirety here.  If you aren't familiar with this magazine, I highly recommend  it as it is full of beautiful images, thought provoking articles and great content from cover to cover!

Thank you to Aimee Adams and her wonderful team for the lovely video and editorial piece!

KENZO FALL/WINTER 2013 AD CAMPAIGN

One of the things I look forward to most when a new fashion season begins is the arrival of new ad campaigns.  Every season I have my favorite, and this time around that favorite is the genius work for the Fall/Winter 2013 campaign by Toilet Paper magazine founders Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaulo Ferrari.   This seasons collection features quirky prints(the eye print is my favorite) and modern silhouettes and the ads capture the playfulness and eccentricity so perfectly!

Kelly Wearstler

I'm so obsessed with the graphic wall paper!
The library at The Viceroy Santa Monica

My favorite interior designer without question is Kelly Wearstler.  With her bold use of color, textures, and abstract furniture she is the glamour girl of interior design.  Her design style is referred to as "Hollywood Regency" and "Maximalism" which really resonates with me! You can see her work not only in residential projects but also in hotels such as The Viceroy and the BG Restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman to name a few.  I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
