FAVORITES OF 2013

What a year 2013 was! It was full of excitement, struggles and a wealth of life lessons.  It was also a year of life changes..the biggest being when I quit my job to begin pursuing my dream of being a set decorator for films.  I am so excited to embark on this new journey with you on my blog and chronicle my love of fashion, vintage, set decorating and beautiful places that I hope inspire you.  If you have a dream I encourage you to pursue it this year...life is about recognizing our hearts greatest desires and going into the unknown.  Thank you for your support and I can't wait to see what's in store for 2014!

STREET STYLE FAVORITE: JULIA SARR-JAMOIS

Creating a perfect balance with a basic grey sweatshirt and a houndstooth Balenciaga skirt

The pairing of sneakers with this ultra feminine look creates the perfect balance of femininity and masculinity

Pardon the pun but I am completely bananas over this Prada skirt! The telephone cord vintage bag is a favorite as well(I have a couple myself)

When it comes to my own personal style, I tend to love mixing high and low, experimenting with patterns and silhouettes and of course I love to infuse vintage.  I am not really influenced by anyone in particular in my styling but I have an admiration and feel inspired when I come across photos of Julia Sarr-Jamois, Fashion Editor of Wonderland Magazine and street style favorite during fashion weeks.  What I love most about her style is her innate ability to wear basic staples that include boyfriend jeans, sneakers, a neutral sweatshirt or t shirt and mix them with one or two statement pieces.  Her style never looks overly thought out yet it is eye-catching, quirky and individual.   Is there someone who inspires you?

DOUBLE DECKER

{Dress}Chicwish, {Handbag}Saint Laurent, {Eye Wear}Asos

Anyone who knows me is well aware of my love of all things British.  While I have yet to go, I daydream of perusing the streets of London, visiting the colorful Piccadilly Circus, scouring for top notch vintage pieces at the flea market, visiting Buckingham Palace and admiring the beauty of Knotting Hill.

A few weeks back, I took an alternate route through downtown on my way home and saw a double-decker red bus parked in a warehouse garage.  I immediately turned around and went to inquire about this unexpected discovery.  I was elated to find out I would be able to use this bus for a photo shoot and create a London-like atmosphere here.  If you live in Oklahoma or plan a visit here soon I would highly recommend booking a ride on the Cheyenne Bus! You can book it here for a variety of events.

Special thanks to Oleg, Steve and Daniel for graciously lending the bus for this photo shoot!
