When it comes to my own personal style, I tend to love mixing high and low, experimenting with patterns and silhouettes and of course I love to infuse vintage.  I am not really influenced by anyone in particular in my styling but I have an admiration and feel inspired when I come across photos of Julia Sarr-Jamois, Fashion Editor of Wonderland Magazine and street style favorite during fashion weeks.  What I love most about her style is her innate ability to wear basic staples that include boyfriend jeans, sneakers, a neutral sweatshirt or t shirt and mix them with one or two statement pieces.  Her style never looks overly thought out yet it is eye-catching, quirky and individual.   Is there someone who inspires you?

A couple of weeks ago I was in NYC for NYFW.  It was a whirlwind of appointments, exciting meetings(more on that later), shows and catching up with friends.  I didn't have much free time but I was able to fit in a quick photo shoot with super talented photographer and blogger Kat Harris. The weather that day was absolutely gorgeous so we decided to get some photos in the Meatpacking District and all along the High Line (one of my favorite places!) Happy Thursday!

One of my favorite pieces...an antique street lamp.  Coincidentally, my former boss at Bergdorf Goodman was stopping by later in the afternoon to look at it for possible use in the windows!

I'm always drawn to vintage photography.  There are so many stories told by these images through location, fashion and expression and I often wonder what each individuals story is...

A gorgeous light from a church

One of my favorite places to visit in NYC is Olde Good Things.  It's a place I frequent to admire the gorgeous and eclectic pieces and to seek inspiration.  For over 15 years, this institution has been acquiring antique and architectural artifacts from many late nineteenth century and pre-depression buildings and making them available to clientele including decorators, set designers, window display artists, other antique dealers and the general public.  There are currently nine locations brimming with beautiful pieces, an extensive lighting collection and antique hardware beyond your wildest dreams.  

Not only does Olde Good Things house some of the most interesting antiques in the world, but it also helps serve others overseas with 1/3 of its profits(pretty amazing!).  Since 1977, they have directly supported two orphanages in Haiti.  Next time you're in New York City or Los Angeles, make sure to visit this store to purchase some truly spectacular pieces and help support a great cause!

DOUBLE DECKER

Anyone who knows me is well aware of my love of all things British.  While I have yet to go, I daydream of perusing the streets of London, visiting the colorful Piccadilly Circus, scouring for top notch vintage pieces at the flea market, visiting Buckingham Palace and admiring the beauty of Knotting Hill.
                    

A few weeks back, I took an alternate route through downtown on my way home and saw a double-decker red bus parked in a warehouse garage.  I immediately turned around and went to inquire about this unexpected discovery.  I was elated to find out I would be able to use this bus for a photo shoot and create a London-like atmosphere here.  If you live in Oklahoma or plan a visit here soon I would highly recommend booking a ride on the Cheyenne Bus! Last month I had the opportunity to collaborate with the ever so lovely Darling Magazine for the fall issue.  Myself and Casey built the pencils out of 6 ft. pvc piping, styrofoam discs, sheet metal and paper cones.   It was such a pleasure working with a fantastic and talented team for this project!
